The
TRIPURA STATE SCIENCE FAIR 2010 -11 was
jointly organized by Tripura State Council for Science &
Technology and State Council of Educational Research &
Training, Tripura; held during December 28, 2010 –
January 1, 2011 at Agartala.
RIELIT - Agartala
has won First Prize for consecutively Second Year under the category of Govt.Organization & Autonomous Organization. The various models and projects developed and presented were:
1. Vehicle Speed Monitoring System for Highway -
While driving on highways, motorists should not exceed the maximum speed limit permitted for their vehicle. However, accidents keep occurring due to speed violations since the drivers tend to ignore their speedometers. This speed checker will come handy for the highway traffic police as it will not only provide a digital display in accordance with a vehicle’s speed but also sound an alarm if the vehicle exceeds the permissible speed for the highway.
2. Automatic Device Sorting Robot - In many situations, autonomous robots can provide effective solutions to menial or dangerous tasks. In this case, it is desirable to create an autonomous robot that can identify objects and relocate them if the object meets certain criteria. Obviously, when dealing with a large number of objects, this is a very menial task. This robot will perform the sorting of Black and White objects over conveyor. If you place Black object on the Stage it will pick the object and place it left side and if you place white object and place it right side.
3. Facility Centric Healthcare Ecosystem for Tripura - It is a simple desktop application to provide information about Doctor, Pharmacy, Hospitals, Pathology labs, Health insurance and Healers of several categories like Cancer, ENT, Skin, Neurology, Surgon, etc.
4. Face Recognition System- Tradionally username & password is used as an authentication tool to login into a secured application. Passwords are vulnerable to attacks. As a remedy to the problem, this software developed in MATLAB, uses the face of an user to login into the secured application.
5. Automatic Smoke Detection Alarm - This project is based on the readily available photon-coupled interrupter module and timer IC NE555. The photo interrupter module is used as the smoke detector, while timer 555 is wired in astable configuration as an AF oscillator for sounding alarm via a loudspeaker. When smoke is present in the gap of the photo interrupter module, the light beam from LED to the phototransistor is obstructed. As a result, the phototransistor stops conducting and pin 4 (reset) of IC 555 goes high to activate the alarm.
6. Handy Heart beat Monitoring System - This project computes the beats per minute so that the information can easily be used to track heart condition. The optical signal transmitted by the fingure is received by a photodiode. The received signal is then passed through a Low Pass Filter (LPF) and the LPF further sends it to the microcontroller 89c2051 which provides the heart rate to the display device.
7. Simple Encryption Decryption Methodology - An encryption - decryption application developed in C without using the concept of keys. The program takes input a text file and encrypts its contents which can also decrypt the same.
8. Animations - IT TALKS: It is a text-to-speech converter which aditionally shows an animated parrot spelling out whatever written. PUZZLE TO PUZZLE YOU: This is a game developed in C which will ask user to select a number from the given list of numbers. After consecutive 5 steps the program will show number selected by the user.
9. Presentations - HEALTHY COMPUTING PRACTICES: An informative presentation containing correct postures for sitting infront of monitor, holding & using mouse, keyboard, etc. Open source Learning Management System(LMS) MOODLE is configured for the course of DOEACC CCC in regional language of Tripura, Kok-borok and Bengali.
